NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 4 at 5:17AM EDT until August 4 at 6:00AM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC

At 517 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms produced
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain
have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
rainfall is expected. Several inches of water has been reported on NC
12 in Pea Island.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Hatteras Island Fishing Pier.
