IDF Hits 200+ Hezbollah Targets as Israel Says Lebanon Excluded From U.S.-Iran Ceasefire

MIDDLE EAST — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) hit more than 200 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over a 24-hour period on April 10 and 11, reporting it killed 180 or more Hezbollah operatives in three simultaneous operations on April 10.
Lebanon’s health ministry reported 357 people killed and 700 wounded. Operations continued through April 12 in both southern Lebanon and Tulkarem in the West Bank.
The IDF stated, “the IDF continues combat operations and ground activity against the Hezbollah terrorist organization” in Lebanon, while simultaneously stating it had “ceased fire in the campaign against Iran.”
President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both said separately on April 8 that Lebanon is not covered by the U.S.-Iran ceasefire.
Largest Coordinated Operation Since Operation Beeper
On April 8, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) launched what the IDF called its largest coordinated wave of operations across Lebanon since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion, targeting more than 100 Hezbollah command centers and military sites. Fifty fighter jets dropped 160 bombs on 100 targets within 10 minutes, according to the IDF.
Defense Minister Israel Katz assessed the operation represented the “largest concentrated blow Hezbollah has suffered since Operation Beeper.”
Katz added, “Naim Qassem did not understand what Nasrallah understood in the last moments of his life: that the post-October 7 Israel is not the same Israel of the past and will not accept any threat or harm to its citizens, neither from Iran nor from Lebanon.”
In Beirut alone, the IDF assessed it hit 35 Hezbollah sites, including an emergency headquarters of Hezbollah’s intelligence division, a headquarters of the Radwan Force, and a headquarters of the group’s missile unit. Additional operations targeted the Al-Mazraa neighborhood in Beirut, the coastal city of Saida (approximately 24 miles (38 km) south of Beirut), and targets in and around Tyre.
Assessment: The IDF’s targeting of Hezbollah’s intelligence division, Radwan Force, and missile unit headquarters in a single coordinated operation indicates Israel is attempting to degrade Hezbollah’s command and control structure rather than conducting attrition against dispersed fighters.
The reference to Operation Beeper, which targeted Hezbollah’s communications infrastructure in September 2024, positions the current operations as part of a systematic effort to dismantle organizational capability.
