Saudi-Led Coalition Reports Second Riyadh Ballistic Intercept and Destruction of Two Launchers in Sanaa
MIDDLE EAST — Major General Turki Al-Malki, official spokesperson for the Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, stated on October 26 in releases carried by the Saudi Press Agency that coalition air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh.
Al-Malki further stated that coalition forces destroyed two ballistic missile launchers in Sanaa, and that one of those launchers had been used to fire the missile directed at Riyadh.
"Operations continue to dismantle the terrorist Houthi militia's ballistic missile network," Al-Malki said.
The October 26 statements follow an October 25 series of coalition reports, also released through the Saudi Press Agency, in which Al-Malki said air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched toward Riyadh, a UAV in the Riyadh Region, a cruise missile launched toward Khamis Mushait, and 10 ballistic missiles launched toward the southern region.
Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Civil Defense reported that debris from two intercepted ballistic missiles fell in Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rafidah on October 25, injuring a Saudi citizen and an Asian resident and damaging three residential buildings and seven vehicles. Civil Defense said its teams responded and followed standard procedures.
The developments continue a period of Houthi projectile activity against Saudi Arabia after earlier October attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that Saudi authorities said caused fatalities and mass injuries. This alert records only the coalition and Civil Defense statements above; it does not independently confirm battle-damage results beyond those statements.
