Elevated North America

NWS / NOAA weather: Winter Storm Warning issued October 24 at 9:12AM AKDT until October 26 at 10:00PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and
12 inches and a glaze of ice. Winds gusting as high as 30 mph.

* WHERE...Upper Koyukuk Valley.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM AKDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snow will come in two waves. Snow is
expected to continue into Sunday morning with 3 to 6 inches
expected. There will be a break with lighter snow Sunday afternoon
and night. On Monday, snow is likely in the morning with 2 to 4
inches expected but rain becomes more likely in the afternoon as
warmer temperatures intrude and this will limit snowfall totals.
Any rain will act as freezing rain and stick on surfaces below
freezing. This could make for slick conditions early next week.
