NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued September 29 at 4:55PM MDT until September 29 at 7:45PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
At 455 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported water flowing across
roads on White Sands Missile Range in southeast Socorro County. Radar
estimates up to 2 inches of rain have fallen, and additional rainfall
amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Socorro, San Antonio, Bosque Del Apache Refuge, Bingham, Escondida,
Lemitar, Laborcita and Luis Lopez.
This includes the following highways...
Highway 380 between Mile Markers 1 and 35. Interstate 25 between Mile
Markers 103 and 146...and between Mile Markers 148 and 150...and near
Mile Marker 154.
