NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued September 28 at 11:57PM MDT until September 29 at 1:45AM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT
At 1157 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain over the
Cottonwood Burn Scar in Piute County. Approximately 0.5 and 1 inch of
rain has fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring with flows
reported in City Creek. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will
result in water and debris moving through the City Creek, Tenmile
Creek, Gold Gulch, and Cottonwood Creek drainages. The debris flow
can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. This
water and debris may impact portions of Highway 89 between Junction
and Marysvale.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash
flooding in and around the Cottonwood Burn Scar in Piute
County.
