NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued September 28 at 11:42PM MDT until September 29 at 4:00AM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT
At 1142 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in upper headwaters of the Paria River
downstream to the Arizona border and Wahweap Creek to its terminus in
Lake Powell. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported a very large flood wave moving
down Wahweap Creek toward Lake Powell near the town of Big
Water.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, and slickrock areas.

downstream to Lake Powell.
This includes US Route 89 between mile markers 2 and 12...and between
mile markers 18 and 22.
