* WHAT...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected
through Friday morning. After a brief lull in the afternoon,
another stronger push of 40 to 50 mph westerly winds with gusts to
60 mph late Friday evening into Saturday morning.
* WHERE...Unalaska and Nikolski.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
power outages may result.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong low pressure system in the southern
Bering will bring a number of rounds of strong westerly winds
through Friday evening. Wind gusts up to 55 mph are likely through
westerly favored gaps near Unalaska. A brief lull in the winds at
times may occur through Friday midday, but a reinvigoration of the
winds out of the west will then occur by Friday evening. Gusts to
60 mph are expected overnight into Saturday morning, with winds
coming down by Saturday afternoon.
