* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall earlier this morning
continues.

* WHERE...Southeastern Athens County in southeastern Ohio...
Northeastern Gallia County in southeastern Ohio...
Meigs County in southeastern Ohio...

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take a
few more hours for all the water from these storms to work through
local drainage systems.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 656 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms earlier this morning. Flooding is
ongoing in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall is expected tonight.
- The gauge on the Shade River at Chester has breached 17 feet, or
minor flood stage, and continues to rise. At that stage, the low
spot on Scout Camp Road near Sugar Run Creek bridge floods.
Agricultural fields adjacent to river begin to flood.

Point Pleasant, Gallipolis, Rio Grande, Racine, Ravenswood, New
Haven, Gallia, Middleport, Hartford City, Henderson, Vinton,
Leon, Wilkesville, Cheshire, Adamsville, Gallopolis Ferry, Lakin,
Kyger, Letart, and Southside.
