The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 130 AM HST.

* At 1017 PM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over Kauai. Rain
rates have decreased to around 1 inch per hour as the heaviest rain
lifts north of the island. Rises on area rivers and streams have
either ceased or considerably slowed. Flash flooding likely
continues in some areas, particularly along the Wainiha River and
South Fork Wailua River. In addition, the Hanalei River Bridge on
Kuhio Highway remains closed due to flooding. Rainfall intensity is
expected to steadily decrease during the next several hours.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
