NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued September 7 at 12:51PM HST until September 7 at 2:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI

At 1251 PM HST, emergency management reported Kuhio Highway is closed
between Hanalei Plantation Road and the Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant
due to flooding over the road near the bridge due to earlier heavy
rain. Despite water levels in streams beginning to lower, additional
areas of light to moderate rain continue to move over the area from
the south, with further runoff expected to continue the risk of
flooding.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Lihue, Kapaa, Princeville, Kilauea, North Fork Wailua Trails,
Wailua Homesteads, Hanalei, Wailua, Moloaa, Wainiha, and Anahola.
