The island of Kauai in Kauai County
* Until 115 PM HST.
* At 1017 AM HST, areas of heavy rain have been moving over Kauai
from southeast to northwest over the past couple of hours with rain
rates around 1 to 2 inches per hour. Water levels at the Hanalei
River gage upstream of the bridge have risen significantly over the
past hour and flooding is expected further downstream toward
Hanalei town, including portions of Kuhio Highway near the bridge.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Gauges reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
