The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Garfield County in southern Utah...

* Until 845 PM MDT.

* At 627 PM MDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy
rain in Birch Creek and the main stem of the Escalante River. Flash
flooding is already occurring with the river running high and
hitting the bottom of the bridge on 300 east just north of
Escalante.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
