NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 31 at 3:23PM MDT until August 31 at 4:45PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT
At 323 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Silver King Burn Scar.
Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the
burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Bullion
Canyon, Beaver Creek Canyon, and Deer Creek Canyon drainages. The
debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Silver King Burn Scar.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the
Cottonwood Burn Scar, especially the City Creek drainage.
