NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 30 at 5:09PM MDT until August 30 at 6:30PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT

At 509 PM MDT, National Park personnel reported waterfalls in areas
north of State Route 24 from earlier thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across portions of Capitol Reef National Park. This area
includes Sunglow Canyon, Sulphur Creek, Spring Canyon, Cohab Canyon,
and Grand Wash. Between 0.5 and 1.0 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...National Park Service reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot
canyons, and normally dry washes.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
portions of Capitol Reef National Park, including Sunglow Canyon,
Sulphur Creek, Spring Canyon, Cohab Canyon, and Grand Wash. Water
will continue to flow through Sulphur Creek and into the Fremont
River heading towards Caineville.
