NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 24 at 4:14PM MDT until August 24 at 6:45PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT

At 414 PM MDT, National Park Service personnel reported mudslides and
rockfalls in Bryce Canyon National Park from earlier thunderstorms.
High flows were also reported on the Paria River south of Tropic,
which will continue to move downstream. Up to 2 inches of rain have
fallen primarily over Bryce Canyon National Park. Flash flooding is
already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot
canyons, and normally dry washes.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Bryce Canyon National Park, including areas near Sheep Creek, the
Paria River, Bull Valley Gorge, Willis Creek, and Herm Pollock Slot
Canyon.

Another Flash Flood Warning has been issued for downstream areas
along the Paria River downstream of the confluence with Cottonwood
Creek.
