White River below Eagle Valley Power Plant.
.Moderate flooding has ended on the White River at Spencer...with
renewed minor flooding at Ravenswood through Friday morning...and
widespread minor flooding downstream from Spencer to Hazleton. The
crest will reach Elliston Friday evening....with flooding forecast
to end at Spencer by Monday...while continuing for Knox County
points through next Wednesday August 26.
Recent heavy rainfall lengthen the amount of time in flood for
points downstream. The primary, higher crest is past Spencer and
should reach Elliston on Friday and make its way down to Hazleton
late Sunday.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...White River at Petersburg.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 20.5 feet, County Road 250 West from State Road 56
floods and blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City. During the
March 2008 flood the river remained above this level from late
afternoon March 19 through April 9. As mid-March 2011 high water
was receding...SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was
at 10.5 feet and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.9
feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage Tuesday evening.
