The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...

* Until 1015 PM MDT.

* At 721 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Albuquerque and South Valley.

This includes Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 218 and 225.

This warning is primarily for the arroyos and diversion channels
within the affected area due to the expected increase in rapidly
flowing water. Please avoid arroyos, diversion channels and any other
areas that are flooded.
