The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...

* Until 915 PM MDT.

* At 617 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Northeastern Albuquerque, Sandia Heights and Carnuel.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 160 and 173. Interstate 25 between
Mile Markers 228 and 233.

This warning is primarily for the arroyos and diversion channels
within the affected area due to the expected increase in rapidly
flowing water. Please avoid arroyos, diversion channels and any other
areas that are flooded.
