NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 19 at 8:22PM MST until August 19 at 11:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ

At 822 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have moved out
of the Pocket Fire scar north of Sedona. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of
rain fell earlier this evening over the northern portions of the fire
scar, including the West Fork drainage. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the West Fork of Oak Creek
downstream of the Pocket Fire scar.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the
West Fork of Oak Creek downstream of the Pocket Fire scar.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Slide Rock State Park, Edge of the World, East Pocket Lookout
Tower, Fernow Cabin, Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness, Indian
Gardens and West Fork of Oak Creek.

This includes the following highways...
State Route 179 near mile marker 313. State Route 89A between mile
markers 374 and 385.

This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds...
Manzanita Campground and Cave Springs Campground.

This includes the following swimming holes...
Slide Rock, Encinoso, Grasshopper Point and Midgely Bridge.

This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
Dry Creek, Oak Creek and West Fork Oak Creek.
