...The Flood Warning continues or is extended for the following
rivers in Indiana and Illinois...
Tippecanoe River near Delphi.
Wildcat Creek from Jerome to Lafayette.
Mississinewa River near Ridgeville.
Wabash River from Lafayette to Hutsonville.
.Significant rainfall over the past several days has resulted in
widespread minor to moderate flooding along the Wabash River and
associated tributaries in north central and western Indiana.
Additional rain is possible at times through Sunday night. Please
stay advised of the latest forecasts and conditions through the
weekend into next week, especially those who live near waterways or
other flood prone areas.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.
* WHEN...Until Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, On April 28, 2011, a lane located on the
west and south side of Wildcat Creek just north of Eisenhower
Bridge began to flood. Another foot or two and some homes would
have been flooded along this lane.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:45 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 16.7 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:45 PM EDT Saturday was 16.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.8
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage early Thursday morning.
