The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
The island of Maui in Maui County

* Until 245 PM HST.

* At 1150 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over eastern
Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour. The
heaviest rain was falling in the vicinity of Kipahulu and Hana.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Kipahulu, Kaupo, Nahiku, Keanae, Kula, Makawao, Keokea, Pukalani,
Hana, Huelo and Haiku-Pauwela.
