NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 2 at 12:06AM EDT until August 2 at 5:30AM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA

At 1206 AM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing
flooding near McCaysville along Hwy 5. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour.
Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Blue Ridge, Epworth, Higdon, Colwell and Mineral Bluff.
