NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued July 16 at 4:17PM MDT until July 16 at 6:45PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT
At 417 PM MDT, Piute County emergency management reported flash
flooding with a muddy/ashy flow out of Ten Mile Canyon at HW 89 near
mp 174. Between 0.3 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is already occurring.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar has resulted in a debris flow
moving through Ten Mile Canyon within the warning area. Additional
flows remain likely originating out of Cottonwood Canyon moving
forward. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood Burn Scar in
Piute County.
