NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued July 6 at 11:29AM EDT until July 6 at 3:15PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ

At 1129 AM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain with Route 71 in Deal is closed. Between 1.5
and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to
3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
High tide is coming up which will also exacerbate impacts.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Long Branch, Asbury Park, Sandy Hook, Middletown, Howell,
Marlboro, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Red Bank, Keansburg, Matawan and
Highlands.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 33 and 34.
Garden State Parkway between mile markers 98 and 122.
