...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...Illinois...
White River at Hazleton.
White River at Petersburg.
Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
.Minor river flooding continues through midweek on the White River
near Hazleton and on the Wabash River at Mount Carmel. River levels
in these areas will slowly drop throughout the period. The White
River at Petersburg is expected to drop below minor flood stage this
evening.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
* WHEN...Until early Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All
oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on
substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural
losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher
ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year
round.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:45 AM EDT Tuesday /9:45 AM CDT Tuesday/ the stage was
20.2 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:45 AM EDT Tuesday /9:45 AM CDT Tuesday/ was 21.0
feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
tomorrow afternoon and continue falling and remain below
flood stage.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
