NWS / NOAA weather: Extreme Heat Warning issued June 30 at 3:50PM EDT until July 2 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index exceeding 105 to
near 110 degrees through the mid week period.

* WHERE...All of southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An extended period of hot and humid
conditions is ongoing and peaks Wednesday through at least
Thursday. High temperatures reach the mid 90s to near 100 degrees
and combine with high humidity to result in heat index of 105
degrees or greater each day. Little relief occurs at night as low
temperatures only fall into the mid and upper 70s with nighttime
heat index around 80.
